IC Markets vs Pepperstone vs Exness — Compare the Ticket, Not the Banner
Three forex-first names traders actually shortlist. Use structured catalog fields and a two-way compare — regulation and costs stay blank when we have not verified them.

Editorial standards. Guides are written from published catalog data and vendor documentation — not paid placement copy. Sponsored listings are labeled separately. See listing guidelines.
“Raw spreads” is not a personality. IC Markets, Pepperstone, and Exness show up on the same shortlists because they are forex-first shops with MetaTrader in the story. That is a reason to open three profiles, not a reason to wire size.
Read how to choose a forex broker first. Then put two slugs into broker compare. This page is a map of what to look at — not a ranking.
1. Entity, not brand
Match the legal entity on the application to the entity on any register the profile cites. A famous brand with an offshore onboarding entity is a different product than the UK or AU entity in the ad. If `regulators` is empty on the profile, it is unverified. We do not invent a badge.
2. The ticket on your pair
Homepage spreads are marketing prints. Time your pair, your session, your size.
Look at, when the catalog has it:
- Spread / commission model
- Platforms listed
- Min deposit
- Whether Islamic / swap-free is a real account type or a toggle
IC Markets and Pepperstone are the usual raw-ish MT / cTrader pair. Exness is often in the conversation for different regions and account packaging. Your Friday London close is the conclusion.
3. Platform is the stack
If your EAs live on MT5, the broker has to be a competent MT5 shop. See the MetaTrader library and how to evaluate MT5 indicators. If you chart on TradingView, decide whether you will work two windows.
4. Money in, money out
Write published withdrawal fees and timelines from the site, then test $200. A broker that is slow on a test will not discover urgency later. Inactivity and bonus offsets are where “trusted” becomes untrusted.
5. Two names, one week
Compare IC Markets vs Pepperstone or Pepperstone vs Exness — not all three in a fog. If you cannot explain the third, drop it. Discuss session tape in Forex Scalping after you have a ticket, not before.
